  1. It’s kinda weird, everybody else in my family — my parents and both my older and younger sisters — are big coffee fiends. They were into gourmet coffee even before Starbucks came to town. I’ve never liked coffee and have never even had a full cup. My wife also hates coffee.

But we drink a lot of soda. Just last year we switched over to diet soda. It took some work to get used to Aspartame… Splenda is so much better, but I think they only sell the Diet Coke with Splenda at WalMart. Coke Zero is made with Aspartame, the same as Diet Coke, yet somehow they formulated it so it doesn’t taste all nasty.

  2. The first decent coffee I ever had was brewed by Mike Radford c. 1992. But it took another 10 years before I was a semi-regular coffee drinker. For most of my 20s, I got my caffeine from soda pop, a terrible, teeth-dissolving alternative. Oh, that I had been a tea drinker when I was young.
