I, too, went to the WCMS concert on Sunday — it was quite good, though my six-year-old complained that it should’ve been longer. (Though afterwards when we were in the bathroom, we heard others complaining that it was too long.)

The best part was definitely the instrument petting zoo that occured after the show. It’s one thing to be told that the piano is technically a percussion instrument, it’s another to see it in action.

Mike, the Gospel for Ash Wednesday, and you’ve got it right, is from Matthew 6. Verse 17 is “But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face…” which always struck me as possibly ironic as well.
Congratulations on being a news breaker two weeks in a row!
