Catholic Worker Darfur talk
Here is the audio of a talk on Darfur at Holy Cross College earlier this month by Brenna Cussen, with Scott Schaeffer-Duffy chiming in. They were part of a four-person Catholic Worker Peace Team that visited Darfur in December 2004.
I really liked part 2 of this talk, where they got into questions like: How can a pacifist respond to genocide?

Saint Kermit #50: Grace Ross
In our first podcast using the live TalkShoe service, the Saint Kermit team talks about the Virginia Tech shooting and Massachusetts politics with former Green-Rainbow gubernatorial candidate Grace Ross.
It was great to have Charlie call in and ask Grace some questions. This kind of interaction more than makes up for the sound problems we had with TalkShoe. I’m sorta bummed, though, that Saint Kermit will no longer be heavily edited to make me sound smart and quick on my feet.

“Your Right to Know” panel
I was honored to be on a televised panel about openness in government this week with T&G City Desk editor Jay Whearly, blogger/businessman Bill Randell, ADA Patricia Smith, and Vocero Hispano’s Jaime Flores. WCCA’s Mauro DePasquale was the emcee.
You can watch it on WCCA’s site or the Internet Archive.
I’ve had positive and negative feedback on the panel, but I gotta say it was the most interesting panel about open meetings law and governmental information requests that I’ve ever participated in. I had a lot of fun.

Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar,
and there recall that your brother
has anything against you,
leave your gift there at the altar,
go first and be reconciled with your brother,
and then come and offer your gift.
